Salt in Sun

I moved into my new old home about a month ago. The house still isn't ready but I needed some freedom. Things here are in a bit of disarray still, which is how I discovered how to dehumidify the salt in a glass salt shaker.

I'm in Florida. The air feels like water sometimes.

So, I put my glass shaker in the kitchen window one night and discovered the next day that the bright sun coming through that window dehumidified my salt to the point that it actually poured, without much effort, out of the shaker again.

There you have it--likely old wisdom rediscovered. Put your glass salt shaker where the sun shines to keep your salt flowing freely. Now, if you put your salt shaker where the sun don't shine...
